Art, Magic and Conservation
You might wonder what these things have in common. I'll tell you: the generosity of some amazing people from Los Angeles! I November, we were so blessed to have a team of four come from the US to share their gifts, not just with us, but with many of the other Family Connection Foundation projects as well!
Christiana Lewis is an artist from LA who spends her time when she's not in the studio traveling to developing nations and sharing art with underprivileged children, teaching them to express their creativity through art. You can see some of her work on her website: www.colorfulsouls.com
Christiana's friend Heidi, a former teacher, came to assist in classroom management at the various locations we visited.
Also, some long time friends of Heather's, Veda and Tuba, came to visit and share their gifts of joy and laughter as well. Tuba is a professional clown and has a magic show as well as teaching conservation efforts all over Southern California. He brought both shows to Thailand and we were able to teach the Building Family Dreams group about conservation and do magic shows with kids adomgic shows with kids all over Chiang Mai. The best part was we got to spend Thanksgiving, which coincided with the Thai holiday of Loy Krathong, together at Doi Inthanon, the tallest point in Thailand, before teaching kids in the Mae Jam school district the next day.
